How to Use 608 Study Buddy

If you are new to Section 608, start with Core study mode before taking a full exam. Use Quick Drill when you only have a few minutes, then use Review Missed to repeat the questions you got wrong. When your missed list gets smaller, take a practice exam to check whether you can hold the information across a longer session.

Choosing a Section

Core applies to everyone. Type I focuses on small appliances, Type II focuses on high-pressure appliances, and Type III focuses on low-pressure appliances. Universal practice combines Core with all three type sections, which makes it the best option once you have reviewed each section separately.

Core

Review ozone depletion, refrigerant safety, recovery rules, shipping, disposal, and EPA regulations.

Type I

Practice small appliance service topics including recovery, evacuation, and sealed-system repair basics.

Type II

Study high-pressure appliances, leak repair, recovery levels, charging, and service procedures.

Type III

Work on low-pressure chiller topics including evacuation, leak testing, recovery, and purge units.

Study Tips That Usually Help

Do not only memorize answer letters. Read why each correct answer fits the situation, especially for recovery, evacuation, leak repair, and cylinder handling questions. Section 608 questions often change the correct action based on appliance type, refrigerant state, pressure, or whether a compressor is operating.
